Titanic Websites & Links

With the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic fast approaching, it is time to explore the Irish stories associated with this famous vessel. Cobh town is also planning a series of events commemorating the 100th anniversary in April 2012. Many events have already been confirmed such as a commemorative ball and a national tribute. A series of concerts and markets are also planned.

‘Titanic Stories’ is a website that is designed to direct you to some of the most authentic information and experiences about the Titanic on the island of Ireland. There is a wealth of undiscovered stories to find within the pages of the website and on many other linked sites. Based in Belfast, ‘Titanic Stories’ contains links to tours, historical sites, towns and cities, and has a fantastic gallery of photographs and videos.

Closer to home, it has never been a better time to acquaint (or re-acquaint) yourself with the long-running Titanic Trail in Cobh. The Titanic Trail is a fascinating guided tour that explores the town of Cobh in Cork Harbour, which was the last port of call of RMS Titanic. This Irish heritage walking tour takes visitors through the historic town of Cobh where the buildings, streets and piers have not changed since the Titanic’s sinking nearly 100 years ago.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic’s journey and to remember and pay tribute to all who have been involved with her, Cobh in County Cork, Ireland, will play host to a memorable series of events.
