During the weekend of April 14th & 15th 2012, the Cork Radio Club will set up and operate EI100T at a public venue in the centre of Cobh town to coincide with the climax of the Titanic commerations. During this weekend, EI100T will engage in two way radio communication with radio amateurs all over the World and will make contact with the other Titanic special event stations including VE0MGY the amateur radio "maritime mobile" station aboard a ship that will be positioned over the Titanic wreck site for the 100th anniversary.
During the weekend of April 14th & 15th, members of the public are invited to visit EI100T in Cobh and learn about amateur radio, the important role radio communication played in the Titanic story and witness the magic of wireless radio communication using traditional methods such as morse code and voice and also to see demonstrations of some of today's high tech radio communication methods.
For enquiries about EI100T please contact Cormac Gebruers, EI4HQ at ei4hq.mail@gmail.com". To learn more about amateur radio please visit www.irts.ie.
