This years Cork Harbour cycle will take place on 4th March 2012. This very popular annual cycle will once again raise funds for Africa Direct. Now in it’s tenth year, the route takes you around scenic Cork Harbour. It is a 40KM (25 Mile) journey and, with the exception of one hill, it is a predominantly leisurely cycle taking about 2 ½ hours. Last year over 300 cyclists took part and more than €23,000 was raised.
There will be refreshments and snacks, a cycle repair facility and the ferry crossing which completes the circuit will be free of charge. Africa Direct is a fully voluntary, Cork-based charity which prides itself on ensuring that over 95% of funds get to the community projects that they support in Kenya.
