Fort 2 Fort - a brand new charity challenge for cycling enthusiasts! Sunday 1st April
Cycle alongside Cork Harbour and raise funds for the Lions Clubs of Cork and the Mercy University Hospital Foundation.
The Fort 2 Fort Charity Cycle will take place on Sunday 1st April, 2012. Beginning at Trabolgan Holiday Village and finishing at Fort Camden, Crosshaven this exciting challenge gives cyclists the option of taking the 50km or 80km routes.
Both routes pass through Whitegate and Saleen and will continue on to Midleton where there will be a water stop. Cyclists will then make their way to Fota Island where at Belvelly the 50km and 80km routes will split. The 80km route, which has some nice climbs, will bring cyclists around a spectacular loop of East Ferry and towards the picturesque Great Island. The 50km route will continue towards the Cross River ferry where both routes will again converge.
Cyclists will make their way over the river on the Cross River Ferry and continue into Monkstown and Shanbally. From here, cyclists will take the loop from Ringaskiddy into Carrigaline. The home stretch will bring you through beautiful scenery on the road into Crosshaven. The cycle will finish amid breathtaking views at Fort Camden. Hot drinks and refreshments will be provided at the stunning Fort Camden.
